Dillsboro is located in the Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina at the intersection of US Hwys. 19/74 and 441. We're 45 minutes west of Asheville and just 20 minutes from Franklin, Cherokee, Maggie Valley, Waynesville and Bryson City. And approximately 10 minutes from Western Carolina University, NCCAT and Southwestern Community College. Dillsboro is at the traffic light at the intersection of US 441 and Business 23. This is at the bottom of a long hill.
From Asheville, NC – less than 1 hour. Take I-40 west to Exit 27 (the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue West on US 74 past Waynesville and Sylva to Dillsboro (Exit 81).
From Atlanta – approximately 3 hours. Take I-85 north to I-985, which becomes US 23, which becomes US 23-441. You'll pass through Clayton, GA and Franklin, NC.
From Charlotte – approximately 3 hours. Take I-85 west to US 74. Continue west on US 74 to I-26. Go north on I-26 to I-40. Take I-40 west to Exit 27 (US 74, the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue West on US 74 past Waynesville and Sylva to Dillsboro (Exit 81)
From Spartanburg and Greenville – approximately 2-1/2 hours. From Spartanburg, take I-26 north to I-40. Take I-40 west to Exit 27 (US 74, the Great Smoky Mountains Expressway). Continue West on US 74 past Waynesville and Sylva to Dillsboro (Exit 81).
From Chattanooga – approximately 2-1/2 hours. Take I-75 north to US 64 (near Cleveland, TN). Drive east on US 64 (which becomes US 64/74) through Ducktown, TN and the Ocoee River Gorge into North Carolina. At Murphy, NC take US 19/74 east through Andrews, NC, the Nantahala Gorge and Bryson City to Dillsboro (Exit 81).
From Knoxville - approximately 2 hours. Take I-40 east into North Carolina to US 276 (Exit 20). Continue South on 276 to US 74 South, past Waynesville and Sylva to Dillsboro (Exit 81). |
